Betty Builds It

Betty Builds It tells the story of a robot who believes she can build anything. Betty is lonely so she decides to build a friend because her brother can not do very much and she is bored. Betty wanted a friend to run, jump and talk with so she goes to her garage full of spare parts and gets to work. Betty finds an old toaster and gets to work, she adds parts to help the toaster jump, run, and play. Betty finds herself still getting board with her new friend so she upgrades the toaster more but disaster ensues when the toaster gets out of control. Betty’s brother saves her and gets damaged. Betty decides she should repair her brother from the damage from the toaster and gives her brother much needed upgrades to be her new best friend. Now Betty’s brother can run, jump, talk, and play with her. This is a beautiful story that shows that sometimes you had what you needed in front of you the whole time. The fun, colorful illustrations show the wonderful relationship between a brother and sister and how you must love one another.
