Fancy Nancy: Budding Ballerina
On the cover of this book, I see ballerinas who are Nancy and her little sister. Her dog Frenchy is dressed up like a ballerina, too! I like ballet and so does Fancy Nancy. The book shows Nancy and her friend Bree at ballet class. Nancy wants to dance on her toes. Nancy does an arabesque like I can do an arabesque. She says, “I demonstrate (that’s fancy for show) what I learned today.” Fancy Nancy makes a sign that says “Nancy’s Dance Academy FREE ballet class today! ALL ages welcome!” It would be fun to go to Nancy’s dance school. While I was reading this book, I did pirouettes on my tiptoes but I fell down like Nancy’s dad does in the book. Nancy teaches the five ballet positions to her daddy. I like when Bree and Nancy do a show for the family. It is good that the book tells how to pronounce the special ballet words. These illustrations look like other Fancy Nancy books I have read. My favorite part was when Nancy made the sign. I think this is a good book for kids who like ballerinas.
