Anteater Adventure is part of the True Tales of Rescue series, which shows real animals that journey through rescue, recovery, rehabilitation, and release. Abi, an anteater who was rescued by Ella Baron in Belize, had a broken leg that needed to heal before he could be released. Ella teaches people about the rainforest in Belize and also rescues animals. This story also talks about Gabi, the first anteater rescued by Ella. Gabi was a baby when Ella rescued her from flash flooding. Rescuing Gabi helped teach Ella what was needed to help rehabilitate an anteater.

Anteater Adventure was really good because it has facts about anteaters, and it is nonfiction. I learned so many neat things about anteaters, like that they make mental maps to know where termite nests are and that anteaters don’t have teeth. I loved how the book had photographs of Gabi, Abi, and Ella. I loved the photographs because it helped me picture how the anteaters ate and what their rescue habitat looked like. I would recommend Anteater Adventure for kids who want to learn more about anteaters or who are interested in animal rescue.
