Tremor (Pulse)
Tremor by Patrick Carman caught my attention with it’s interesting picture on the cover. I just needed to find out what the floating tower is, and why it looks so different from all the other buildings. It is a prison, without prisoners. The prison is used as the headquarters by Gretchen, Andre Quinn, Hotspur Chance, Wade, and Clara. This clan of “bad guys” got attacked by the drifters as they are trying to prevent the change of the states in a bad way. Every character, if not a robot, has either a first or a second pulse. Pulses are like super powers. You are able to move objects with your mind. If you are a second pulse your powers are a lot stronger than the ones of a first pulse. You can only kill a second pulse by using their weakness. Even though the book was entertaining and full of action, it left me wondering about where exactly the setting is. It only tells you about the Northern and Southern States. Could it be the United States of America?
