Tiptop Cat
The cat liked the balcony, because then he could get on top of the world, which is on the top of the chimney. One day he pounced at a pigeon, but cats can’t fly, so the pigeon went up but the cat fell down. Nothing was broken, except his spirit, which means he was scared – he thought he would break one of his bones next time. But finally he was able to go up on top of the world again.
The cat is really cute in this book and I like the pictures a lot. The cat’s face and expressions are really funny. The first thing I like is where the cat is hiding, and then I like when the cat is falling down, where one paw is going up and one is going down, and his tail is up and his back is down. The pictures are what a cat would see as he was exploring the house and the rooftops. I’m glad that the cat decided to try again, and it seemed like the cat was glad too! I liked how it said the top hat cat was fine ”except for his spirit!” That was funny.
