Tiger Tiger
This is a sweet rhyming bedtime story about a grumpy tiger finding out he actually enjoys taking care of an enthusiastic cub. The pictures are really pretty and go from dull to vibrant as the old tiger figures out there is more to the world than grey and grumps. The cub is so playful and interested in everything around him, from a butterfly to more exotic jungle animals.
Sometimes older people are feeling down or tired, but when they see kids playing and having fun, they realize they can still have fun, too! My favorite part is when the old tiger scares the grazing deer, and they all run away, as I didn’t expect him to do that. It’s a really cool picture, too. I especially like how they drew the old tiger’s whiskers.
I think babies all the way to kids my age (eight) would like it because it’s a really touching story with great pictures. I liked watching the older tiger become more silly and even start to protect the cub at the end, even though he didn’t want to cub-sit at all in the beginning. Hope you like it, too!
