The Wing On A Flea
This book tells you about what some of the shapes of the world are. A mountain is a triangle (like you would draw a pointy triangle mountain in books), or the wing on a flea. Some others are bird’s beaks or fish tails, or a sail or rocket top. The mountain is my favorite triangle, because in that picture there is a group of people climbing the mountain. Rectangles can be found in confetti, a checkerboard, a ruler or box of tools, a pirate’s map or a hopscotch game – and in a book, of course! My favorite of the pictures of rectangles is where the rectangle is a big hotel. It is a huge skyscraper with a lot of windows that are all rectangles too. The last shape is a circle, and you can see circles in a pea, bubbles, a ball or balloon, a drum, and even in the light from a lighthouse. The Earth, moon and sun are all circles too, and that picture is my favorite because they are on the tent of a fortune-teller. This book has good pictures to teach you about shapes and how you can find them everywhere, if you just look.
