The Peace Dragon
The Peace Dragon is a surprising story about a boy named Sherwyn. One day he was exploring the woods and came upon a dragon. At first, he was scared because it was a great big dragon, but he didn’t run away. The dragon was smiling! She told Sherwyn she was actually a peace dragon named Omani who believed in treating people with open minds and open hearts. They became friends, exploring the forest together.
When Sherwyn learned she didn’t have a home, he wanted to bring Omani back to his village. Would the villagers accept Omani as a friend or attack her as an enemy? The end was a big surprise but don’t worry it’s not too scary for younger kids.
This was a great story and a good message about treating people with open minds and open hearts. Sherwyn would have missed out on a great friend if he hadn’t. I loved the beautiful watercolor illustrations—Omani isn’t like any dragon you’ve ever seen. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys tales of dragons or stories about unexpected friendships.
