The One and Only Ivan

This book is about a gorilla named Ivan. He is trapped in a cage in a mall. The mall is depending upon the animals to get them extra money so they can stay in business. The gorilla is not getting them much business so they get an elephant named Ruby. Ruby was caught from the wild and put into a little cage. Ruby tells Ivan what the wild is like and Ivan’s life changes after he hears about living free.

I love this book! It is one of the best books I’ve ever read. The only thing I wish is that the author would put more pictures in the book so I can picture the story better. I think it is a little sad and I even started crying a few times. I love the dog; it was such a cute character. I would suggest this book to a person who likes animals. Also, I think this book is the perfect size at around three hundred pages. This is my favorite animal book ever! I would love the author to make more books like this one.
