The League

The League is about a boy named Wyatt Parker. He is picked on by bullies and ignored by girls, and he is tired of it. He decides his classmates would take him more seriously if he was to play football, but his parents think differently. They don’t want him to play football because they are concerned for his safety. They sign him up for golf camp, so that he can play in the father/son tournament. Aaron, his older brother, gives him an unexpected offer; if he ditches golf camp, he can come play in the “League of Pain”, which is the roughest and most secret league in the city. I give The League four and a half stars. The book ended a little more abruptly than I had anticipated and there were some parts that were a little confusing, but in the end, Wyatt had made new friends and his parents accepted his decision. His mom wasn’t happy about it, but in the end, Wyatt was happy and that is what mattered. It was a quick, enjoyable read for sports lovers and non-sports lovers alike.
