The Misadventures of the Family Fletcher
This is a really funny book with a lot of puns and jokes. You will enjoy it if you like chapter books that are humorous rather than violent. You will also like it if you like comic books that are about families, like Baby Blues or Calvin & Hobbes. It is like a chapter-book version of these books. I liked it because it is pretty well-written and I laughed all the way through it.
This book is mostly about the kids in the story, who are named Jax, Frog, Eli and Sam, but it is somewhat about their parents, their dog named Sir Puggleton and their cat named Zeus. They do a lot of stuff like a normal family, except there are puns mixed in with the dialog, which is hilarious. The kids do a lot of funny things both at school and at home. For example, one day at school, Frog pretends to bring invisible pets and he tries to save seats for them. The title of each chapter hints at what is going to happen in that chapter, and is followed by a note or text message from one of the characters, and it is usually hilarious.
