The Lost Gift: A Christmas Story
This book is a very special story, and very funny, too. It is about something that happens near a farm on Christmas Eve. A very cute rabbit and animal friends find a gift that comes from Santa. It actually fell on the snow from Santa’s sleigh! When the animals read the tag, they learn that there is a new baby at the farm. I think the new baby represents Jesus! The animals are going to try to deliver the baby’s gift. Will they be able to get the baby’s gift to the farm? If you read this book, you’ll have to find out. The illustrations in this book are very Christmas-y. I like the darkness in the scenes and how that contrasts with the whiteness of the snow. This is a great book to read at night before Christmas comes. I like when the animals show courage by not giving up when their job gets difficult: “Then Rabbit thought of Santa. Santa traveled all night long. He was probably hungry and tired, too. But Santa would not give up.” My favorite part is when Santa leaves a gift for all of his animal helpers!
