The Fox Wish
Roxie, a little girl, forgot her jump rope at the park. She and her little brother, Lukie, go back to the park to find it. They hear someone laughing, so they go to investigate. It was not their friends, like Roxie thought – it was a group of fox cubs!
The foxes are bad at jumping rope because their tails always get stuck in the rope! When Lukie accidentally laughs at the foxes, the children are discovered. Instead of being mad, the foxes are happy that Roxie and Lukie can help them jump rope better. The children and foxes spend the afternoon happily jumping together.
My favorite picture is when Roxie the girl is talking to Roxie the fox. I like the little fox’s face, looking sweetly up at Roxie the girl! My other favorite picture is the one where the children are watching the foxes jumping rope in the meadow. The foxes look so happy and free. It seems like the perfect kind of afternoon that I like to share with my sister. I like the story because it is sweet, funny, and has adventure in it!
