The Day No One Was Angry
This book has several stories. The Hyrax thought the sun was going down just to be rude to him. He was really angry about it every day. Other animals get angry too: The elephant gets mad at himself for climbing a tree. The shrew tries to make the squirrel angry. A rhinoceros and a hippopotamus met on a path and wouldn’t move. They talked and danced with each other all day, then went back the way they came. Finally there was a day when no one got angry at all, and no one knew what to do.
I don’t like this book because most of the stories are about mad things, and also there are many things like punching, kicking, smashing…things like that. It’s sad that everyone is so angry all the time. The stories don’t make much sense. In one, the beetle told the cricket to be angry, and finally he got so angry that he punched the beetle. But the beetle was happy about that, because he was finally able to make the cricket angry! That doesn’t make any sense! I liked the pictures; they looked like they were drawn in colored pencils. But I did not like the stories.
