This is one of six in a series of scary and funny monsterrific tales. This story The Bully Bug is about a boy named Lud Mellon and his brother Bud. It is written in the voice of Lud. Lud and Bud are not very popular or well liked in school and they get in trouble a lot. Lud is extremely funny but most times he just keeps his jokes to himself because he thinks no one will laugh because no one likes him. Lud and his brother are messing around in the basement when he gets bitten by a multitude of bugs that came out of a cereal box. At first, he thinks everything is normal but slowly changes start to happen that he can’t explain. For example, he gets pushed off a pile of stoves 20 feet up and lands on his feet, he answers difficult math problems and doesn’t know how he came up with the answer, and drools all over the place at lunch. The funniest thing I think Lud made up is when he was describing the type of bug that came out of the cereal box he said it was kind of like a big beetle, but the head was like a fly so he called it a fleetle. I thought that was pretty clever. I think this is a good book. I really liked the ending.
