The Boring Evening

This is a book on the iPad. In it, a girl goes out to go ice skating, but there is only the lady next door, so the girl says that it is so boring! Then a whale comes out of the ice and shows them all these things! There is a cafe, and a train where they drink hot chocolate, and they meet all sorts of other creatures, like a dolphin that flips them up to where the whale is. Then they meet a snow bunny and they go back home.

This book is weird. The pictures are awesome. They look like pen or pencil. They are very dark – the lines that draw the pictures are colors, but everything else is black, because it is night. It is really fun to think about going under the ice and finding out what is there. The girl thought it was really boring but then all this awesome stuff happened just under the ice. I like the message, which is that when you think things are so boring, if you wait, fun things will happen.
