Squirrel in the House
This squirrel lives in a schoolyard, and the dog lives nearby. They talk to each other, but the squirrel makes this dog really angry because, first, dogs chase squirrels, so they are enemies, and then the squirrel keeps saying that squirrels are a man’s best friend. You can imagine how infuriating that would be to the dog! Now it is winter, and the squirrel decides to go live with the dog’s people. Everything he sees, he thinks is for squirrels. He thinks the gutters outside were just slides for him. He thinks the firewood and indoor plant were put there to make him feel at home. He makes a huge mess in the house! Finally the squirrel goes back to his home, but he is able to help the people in the end.
This book is funny. The squirrel and the dog fight with each other because that is how dogs and squirrels would act, but they each kind of help the other, too. It is also funny how the squirrel thinks everything is about him. The pictures are really funny, too. You will like this book and will want to read the other book in the series!
