Pup and Pokey
I love animals, so I was really excited to read this book about a porcupine and wolf. It’s a story about the life of a porcupine named Pokey and his wolf friend named Pup. It’s more about Pokey and how lonely his life is and it doesn’t seem like Pup is that good of a friend to Pokey. Pup is always biting Pokey’s head every time he comes for a visit. Pokey doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t say anything to Pup. I felt sad for Pokey when his mom went away with the other porcupine and he was alone. Pup did help Pokey when he was under the trapper’s cabin and couldn’t get out because of the trapper’s dog, but my favorite part was when Pokey was the only one who could save Pup from the trapper’s trap.
I only gave this book three stars because it seemed a little sad and it made me not want to read it again. I don’t think I would recommend it to my friends.
