This book is about a bunch of animals and they just don’t want you to close the book! They tell the reader, “Why would anyone close a book? Especially a really good book like this one. You should leave it open.” The main character in this book is a type of monkey called a baboon. He isn’t the only animal in this story. There are also other types of monkeys, a toucan, a panda bear, another baboon, and a crocodile who looked like he had some bandages on him! I didn’t like it that the animals in this book were telling me NOT to close this book. I don’t see anything wrong with closing a book because when I do, it means I can read other stories. I liked the illustrations which were examples of artwork of the animals with black backgrounds that are “jungly,” if that’s possible. Here’s a quotation from this book that I like: “You turned another page! Don’t you know what will happen? If you keep turning pages, you’ll close the book.” I think that girls who like monkeys would enjoy this book.
