Plantology: 30 Activities and Observations for Exploring the World of Plants
Plantology by Michael Elson Ross is a wonderful book about plants. This book includes info and fun activities. My favorite activity was the “Surprise Garden.” In this activity you dip up a 1-meter by 1-meter plot, water it, tend to it, and then see what pops up. The part about “Plants and People” could’ve been a bit longer, especially section of plants’ medical uses; I’d love to know more about it. What I like in this chapter was the section about how some plants help cleanse the soil. This book is great for people who love plants and botany. The author used many activities to establish points, which I liked because it helps me understand it by myself. For example, when the author wrote about accessory fruits and normal fruits, he added the activities “Accessory Fruit Salad” and “Berry Shake.”
I would recommend this book because it helps you realize that plants help the Earth in many ways we don’t even know about, like how geraniums and some other plants cleanse soil filled with pollutants. The photos and drawings were amazing. I felt like I was there, walking in a garden with all those plants. I truly enjoy this book, and I hope you enjoy this book as well.
