Mother Bruce is about bear named Bruce who is very grumpy and does not like anyone. He loves to eat eggs and make fancy recipes he finds on the internet. Bruce goes out looking for salmon, honey, and goose eggs for his recipe, but before he can cook the eggs, they hatch into four baby geese. The goslings think Bruce is their mama. Bruce tries to give the goslings back to mother goose but she has already flown south for the winter. The goslings follow Bruce around, and he decides to take care of them, even though it was very hard work. The goslings grow up and Bruce decides he needs to explain migration. The geese didn’t listen. Will Bruce be stuck with the geese forever?

I really liked Mother Bruce because it was funny. I thought the pictures were funny, when it showed Bruce pushing his shopping cart in the river to get salmon and when he was carrying the goslings in baby carriers. I was able to read this book on my own and liked looking through the pictures over and over again. My sister and I laughed so many times while reading Mother Bruce.
