Miep and the Most Famous Diary: The Woman Who Rescued Anne Frank’s Diary is about a lady named Miep Gies and how she saved Anne Frank’s Diary. The Frank family lived in a secret room in Miep and Henk’s house because the Nazis were rounding up Jewish families. Miep has known Anne since she was a toddler. Anne wanted to be an author and she wanted to publish her diary, After the Nazis found the Franks and took them to concentration camps, Miep took Anne’s diary before they found it. After the Nazis surrendered and the war was over, Mr. Frank had returned from his prison camp, weak but alive. Anne, her sister, and Mrs. Frank didn’t make it and died of illnesses. Miep later published the diary and it became one of the most famous books in the world. Anne Frank’s Diary was translated into many languages and read by millions.

I lovedMiep and the Most Famous Diary. I had heard of Anne Frank’s diary but never knew how it was published. I think it is so important for people to also learn about Miep since if it were not for her, the world would never have learned about Anne Frank. I loved the illustrations and pictures. They really added to the book. I liked how they had a timeline of Miep’s life. I would recommend Miep and the Most Famous Diary to kids who want to learn more about women in history and for all students who are studying Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl.
