This book has three different stories of Little Red Riding Hood in it. Each story is from a different country. In the beginning of the book I learned about fairytales. Fairy tales are stories that were once told before there were books. The stories were about witches, princes, fairies, and magic. They usually were told to entertain or to teach a lesson. The stories changed as they were retold. It was neat to see how Little Red Riding Hood changed. The first story was from Germany. This story was a lot like the story I know. Little Red Riding Hood was tricked by the wolf and the wolf ended up at the Grandmother’s cottage dressed up like the Grandmother. Both were eaten by the wolf but a hunter cut the wolf open and saved them. The next story was from Italy. This story was very different from the first one. Instead of a wolf there was an ogress. The little girl was able to trick the ogress and get back home safely. The last story was from Taiwan. This story had a tiger as the bad wolf character. In this story the girls were left home and told not to open the door and the mother left. The tiger dressed up as the grandmother and knocked on the door. The girl was able to trick the tiger like in the Italian story. I liked all of these stories and I liked finding the things that were the same and different. I think all kids would enjoy reading or listening to these stories.
