Little Owl’s Day

Little Owl wakes up at the wrong time because a squirrel woke her up with its chattering. The silliest part comes next. Little Owl’s mom tells her to go back to sleep, but she just goes and explores the forest instead. It makes me think of my mom telling me to go back to sleep, but I never can. So she explores the forest and finds butterflies. She sees dragonflies and learns that they can fly backwards and wants to tell the bats about them. Everything looks different to her since she’s nocturnal and not normally out during the day. Later, Bear shows her a beautiful rainbow. When the sunset begins, Little Owl heads back home. Little Owl promised Bear that she’d show him the moon so she does.

I loved this book. Owls are my favorite bird and one of my favorite animals. I noticed that there is another book by this author called, Little Owl’s Night and I want that book to read now. I loved the illustrations in this book. All of the animals look so cute and happy. The owl has really big eyes and I love that.
