I Ate a Cicada Today

This book made me laugh! It is really silly and has a lot of rhymes. Each page of the book follows the same pattern. The first and last lines are the same. The lines in between tell about what happened or how. In each one, there is an animal doing something funny. This book also came with a CD. I liked listening to this book on the CD, but it was also easy for me to read. I think this book is better for older kids. I don’t think my sister that is three understood most of the pages. She liked listening to it, but it is really funny for older kids. I liked the page about the giraffe and the page about the swallow the best. The illustrations were really good. They were funny and helped to tell the story. The book was both written and illustrated by the same person. He also sang the stories on the CD. I read that this is his first book. If you enjoy silly things, you will like reading this book.
