Hidden Dangers: Seek and Find 13 of the World’s Deadliest Animals
This is a non-fiction book full of entertaining information about deadly animals from around the world. It talks about thirteen different dangerous animals, where they live, and how they defend themselves if they ever feel threatened.
I really like the detail of each animal in the pictures. The animals are drawn to look cute, not scary.
The most interesting fact I learned in this book is how the hammerhead shark can bludgeon a person to death with its head. I also enjoyed reading about how a small creature like a golden poison dart frog can defend itself against predators with the poison on its skin. It can paralyze your lungs and stop your heart! It was interesting to read about how hippos can be very territorial. I always thought they were sweet creatures, but they can trample a person and maul them with huge teeth.
As you can see, this book is very graphic in describing how each of the animals can kill a person. I would not recommend this book to anyone with children who are sensitive to the idea of suffering or death. For me, this book was just very interesting!
