HelloFlo: The Guide, Period.
This is great book with lots of important information about periods that you might have been afraid to ask. In nine sections this book talks about changing bodies, breasts, and getting your period in a clear way. It helps answer questions that might be embarrassing for some girls to ask and gives good advice about how girls can manage these changes in our bodies. I especially liked how the author encourages girls to make decisions based on how they feel and to trust their instincts. The language is clear and simple, and the author explains things in a way that is easy to understand. She even seems to read your mind before you have time to ask the question. There are many drawings and illustrations that are appropriate and very helpful. I like that they are not “cartoonish” and very realistic. This is an excellent book for young people of all ages, but I think girls between the ages of 10-15 would find it more useful. I recommend this book for any girl who is about to enter puberty and to their sisters, mothers, and friends. So if you are in that category, don’t wait. Get the book now.
