Hi. My name is Faith. I have been reading Crazy in Alabama for the past two to three weeks. I like this book. And I think many other people will like this book, too. It’s about three girls going to see their grandmother and great-grandmother in Alabama. It’s been three years since they have seen them. It’s also the summer of 1969. The three of them got on the bus. It takes them one to two days to get from Brooklyn to Alabama. when they get there, they give Ma Charles and Big Ma a hug. Then they do their “gotta gotta” dance. One of them says,”Last one in has to wait!” One month later, they meet their cousin, Jimmy Trotter. They also meet Miss Trotter. Jimmy Trotter also has cows. One is named Butter. The other one’s name is Sophie. He has to milk Sophie in the morning and afternoon. A few weeks later, they hear people are going into space. Two months later, the sky goes dark. Mr. Lucas says, “There is a tornado.” But Vonetta is missing. Everybody has to get in the cellar. Everyone is there, even all the chickens and the dog, Caleb. And Vonetta is gone in the storm. Everyone misses Vonetta. Big Ma says, “Jesus,Jesus,Jesus.” When they come out, the sky is a beautiful sky blue. Once they get out, the hen house is gone, and there is only one broken window on the house. The house is still standing. I’m still surprised about that. They find Vonetta three days later.

I recommend this book to kids 9 to 12. Crazy in Alabama is funny and awesome!
