Eden’s Wish is about Eden, a genie who does not want to stay in her lamp and grant all of her 999 wishes. If she grants 999 wishes, she gets free from her lamp. One day Eden escapes from her lamp through a gateway and begins to explore the world. She makes two friends, Tyler and Sasha and decides to go to school with them. There is a lot of Eden going to school, where she gets teased for being a know-it-all. But Eden gets caught between two competing genie groups – the Loyals, who want her back in the lamp to finish her granting of wishes, and the Electra who just want her lamp for money. Eden has to decide which group to join and who she is, good or evil.

The story flows nicely, though it says early in the book, “Quick and hot as a bullet, a cracking flash of light knocked the sense right out of Darryl…” Bullets are neither quick nor hot until they’re fired out of a gun. Other than that, it’s a good book. The characters and story are interesting and kept me reading, especially since there aren’t many stories about genies. That makes it stand out. It’s a good book for tweens to early teens, especially if you like magical stories.
