Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People: Color Edition (Captain Underpants #8)
In a previous book in this series, Melvin invents the Purple Potty, which is a time-traveling machine. In this installment, George and Harold (along with their pets, Sulu and Crackers) accidentally activate the Purple Potty. They are transported to an alternate dimension, where teachers and the school principal are nice, but George and Harold’s alternate selves are evil!
Their evil selves hypnotize Crackers and Sulu with a Hypno-ring. They order now-evil Sulu to attack good George and Harold, but Crackers is still confused. The good guys and Crackers try to escape in the Purple Potty, but they are waylaid by their evil counterparts and the now-evil Sulu.
After much more adventure, Captain Underpants shows up to try and save the day. But can he do it, or will something go terribly, awfully wrong?
I loved this book because it is hilarious, exciting, and adventurous. It is fairly easy to read and the humor keeps you turning the page for more until the very end. The pictures were well-drawn and funny. My favorite picture is one of Evil Sulu. An angry, giant bionic hamster is so hilarious!
