Backyard Witch #1: Sadie’s Story
In Backyard Witch, the main character, Sadie, has best friends that go on a trip but she is not old enough to go with them. After her friends are gone, Sadie sees smoke coming from her playhouse in the backyard. She goes to check it out and Sadie meets the witch that lives in her playhouse. Sadie and the witch spend their time searching for a bird who happens to be one of the witch’s friends. They don’t find that bird but they do find other interesting birds that make Sadie want to do more bird watching. Sadie’s parents want to sell the playhouse, but Sadie and the witch make people stay away from the it so the witch can stay in the backyard.
This book was kind of short. I wished it was longer because it was a funny book. I didn’t like that the characters were all girls; it needed some boy characters, too. I wasn’t expecting to like this book, but it had a lot of funny parts that made me laugh out loud.
