Zen Socks is about a Panda bear named Stillwater and his neighbors, Leo and Molly. Leo and Molly spend time with Stillwater and he teaches them valuable lessons. When Molly wants to become a great ballerina in a day, Stillwwater tells her the story of Jiro the swordsman. Jiro cannot rush in his training. He must have patience and dedication before he will learn to be a great swordsman. Then Stillwater teaches Leo that you shouldn’t always keep the best things for yourself. Stillwater, Molly and Leo go to the beach. When the tides goes out, they try to save the starfish, but there are so many to save.

I liked Zen Socks because of the lessons that were taught in it. My favorite lesson was the story of the starfish, which taught us that even though there are so many people who need help, even just the few you can help, you make a difference to them. I loved the illustrations, they are soft and colorful. Even though I really liked this book, I still wonder why the book is called Zen Socks.
