What Dog Knows
Dog is an educated bookworm, so he knows more than his cousin, Wolf. But Wolf is always, always trying to figure out some way to look smarter than Dog. On various subjects, such as robots, mummies, and the body, he questions Dog and tries to compete with him (and win).
This book is interesting because a lot of books are either fact or fiction. This one is both, which rhymes and activities, too. In each section, there are conversations between Dog and Wolf, followed by facts about whatever subject they’re talking about. For example, Wolf thought a knight was a robot. After Dog corrects him, the book goes on to give details about knights. It also gives a quiz at the end and an activity about each subject.
There is something I didn’t like about this book. When Wolf gets angry, he orders Dog around and Dog is afraid of him. I understand he’s a wolf, but I wish he were nicer to his best friend. Also, Wolf is a bit gory. But if you like facts mixed with fiction as well as activities and you are able to cope with Wolf’s behavior, this book is for you.
