The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates #2: The Terror of the Southlands
Hilary Westfield is back. Only this time, she’s not a reluctant High Society Girl in training, but The Terror of the Southlands, an official member of the Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates. Pirate Jasper Fletcher is off returning the found magic pieces to the people. Ex-governess Miss Greyson is on the Pigeon selling books. And Charlie is Jasper’s First Mate and helping out in a variety of ways. Hilary receives a warning that she has not been acting piratical enough and must defeat a pirate king in battle or kill a sea monster. Then Hilary finds out that Miss Eugenia Pimm, the Enchantress of the Northlands, is missing and Hilary decides to find and rescue Miss Pimm to prove that she is worthy of being a pirate. She is joined on this quest by Claire, who mysteriously explodes the magic pieces she tries to use. Along the way there are Queen’s Inspectors, scallywags, an eligible bachelor, and a group called the Mutineers.|I liked the book. The plot had a lot of twists and turns that made the book interesting. It would help if people read the first book before reading this one.
