The Thrifty Guide to Ancient Rome: A Handbook for Time Travelers
Finn Greenquill is the founder of Time Corp and all-around rude person. Time Corp gives time travel vacation packages. This book is a guide for people who want to go to Ancient Rome. There’s an introduction to time travel. I liked the “Top Five Ways to Die in Rome.” If you get sick, don’t see a doctor. Why do they think the blood of a fallen gladiator cures epilepsy? “How to Pilot a Horse” was funny but not very informative. I really liked the reviews of places. Ancient Rome was a little disgusting.
This is a history book pretending to be a travel guide. You learn about Caesar’s life. It explains a lot about his assassination. Spoiler alert! Caesar is a good leader in battles. Cleopatra’s family tree is confusing. I think “Rome’s Top Five Craziest Emperors” is crazy. Caligula really liked his horse. He made it a priest. Being an emperor could be great, but it seems like there were always some Senators out to get you.
I liked the charts and the maps. They were educational. I learned a lot from this book. If there were less talk about time travel, that would have made this book better.
