The girl is out on a desert, and she feels tired. So she sings and plays on her guitar, and then she goes to sleep. While she sleeps, a lot of different animals come and talk to each other about her, wondering why she is here. The most important is the Lion. A painter comes along and starts painting everyone. One by one, the animals tell the painter that he drew them wrong, so he just scrapes them out of the picture. Finally the only ones left are the Lion and the Gypsy. Then the painter wakes up and finishes the picture he had a painted in his dream the night before. It is the picture of the Lion and the sleeping Gypsy.

I don’t particularly dislike this book, although I don’t particularly like it. It kind of makes you feel like you are in a dream, but nothing really happens that is exciting. It is not a very exciting story, although it is kind of interesting. This is a story about a picture that someone actually painted, although I don’t know if the painter said this is how he got the idea for the painting. The pictures are interesting though.
