The Pirate Jamboree

This is a book for younger children, and for children who like pirates. If you like pirates, you will love this book because it is really cute for children who like pirates. If I were younger, I would have liked it a lot. There are these children who are all dressed as pirates. They are all going to the pirate jamboree, which is a party at one friend’s house. They have a lot of fun and make a huge mess, and then the mom comes in on a pirate ship called “Clean Your Room” so all the pirate children have to go home. But they will get together and play again tomorrow!

The pictures are bold and colorful and all about fun pirate ships and pirates. You can tell that the pirates are having fun because they are smiling and laughing. But my favorite picture is the one that has the “Clean Up Your Room” ship in it, because in that one the mom looks grumpy! The book is written in a rhyme that is fun to read out loud and that younger children will really enjoy.
