The Gollywhopper Games: The New Champion
For the second time The Golly Toy and Game Company plans to hold the Gollywhopper Games, a competition where kids ages 8-15 solve puzzles to win a one million dollar cash prize. Cameron Schein and his older brother, Spencer, both score much wanted tickets to participate in the Games. Cameron feels like he is in the shadow of his much more popular brother, and hopes that he can finally beat his brother. Now the brothers must compete against each other to win a rare spot at the Games’ finals in Orchard Heights.
Although I did like this book, I felt like the ending did not solve all of the problems mentioned in the book. Even though the unsolved problems were not the main ones, I would have liked to have found out what happened in the end. I also felt that the puzzles that were in this book were not as interesting as the ones in the companion to this book. This book is a combination of The Candymakers, The Mysterious Benedict Society ,and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I would recommend it for people who like to solve puzzles.
