Hazel, a little fairy, wants to go to a sleepover with her friends. But her dad asks her to clean up her room and finish her homework with no help from the magic. It must be “her” doing the work. Hazel has an idea. If it must be her doing the work, she can copy herself to get help. In this way she will get help, and it will be still “her”. So she creates Hazel Two and orders her to clean, then leaves with her friends. They have a great time but at some point Hazel wonders how things are going back home. When she heads back, she finds that Hazel Two has done a great job but has also copied herself. And Hazel Three has copied herself. And so forth. There are now Nine Hazels, all busy cleaning up… but they are just doing too much and confusing everyone: parents and friends see Hazels everywhere, and there are too many bubbles from too much soap being used. Hazel realizes how much trouble that’s caused and uses a magic spell to make all the other Hazels disappear. She also confesses to her parents what she did, and they tell her to clean up all the soapy mess by herself, this time. Then everyone goes on to have breakfast and is happy again.

This book was really fun to read. All the Hazels and the pictures of the mess were funny, they made me laugh a lot.
