The Case of the Stolen Sixpence
Maisie loves detectives and wants to be one. She discovers a dog in a watery sack, and names it Eddie. She brings it home to her grandmother who does not want to keep it, so Maisie tricks her grandmother into allowing her to keep it. The butcher’s boy, George, comes over. Eddie steals all the sausage and George goes home. The next time the meat was delivered there was a different delivery boy. She asked where George was and the guy said George got sacked because the owner thought George had stolen money. She decided to do some investigating to help her friend get his job back.
I like this book because it is a mystery book which I most of the time I like. I think Maisie would be a good friend. Her dog was cute like my dog. I liked when Maisie discovered the real thief. I think Maisie is really smart because she solves mysteries. I hope I can solve a mystery someday. My favorite character was Maisie’s dog, Eddie. I liked him because he is cute and smart.
