Cami, Lucy, Joe and Max all have wishes for the Angel Tree, a tree that mysteriously appears every Christmas. Some people hang wishes on the Angel Tree’s branches, and others find those wishes and fulfill them. However, all four have an even bigger wish in mind: to find who puts up the Angel Tree every year and give that person the best Christmas surprise ever. Finding “Great Benefactor” (codename GB) though, isn’t easy. All of the group’s leads are melting away, and it doesn’t seem that they’ll be able to find GB before Christmas arrives: and the GB won’t get his-or her-Christmas surprise!

What I especially liked about this book is that the author switched between the different character’s points of view for each chapter, while still maintaining a third person perspective. I also liked that the name of each chapter described how many days until Christmas from that day: or until the group would have to find the Great Benefactor. However, at times I feel that the kids’ actions were too intrusive, and sometimes they almost went a little too far. Aside from that The Angel Tree is a great read to welcome the upcoming Christmas season.
