Ten Rules of the Birthday Wish
Ten Rules of the Birthday Wish is a wacky, cute, clever, and hilarious picture book. It’s all about ten rules you should follow if you want to make a perfect wish on your birthday. There are fun tips on the best ways to party, how to pick and enjoy your desert, how to make your big birthday wish, and many more!
This book’s illustrations are cute, colorful, creative, and overall fun! It is written in a way that it sounds like a mix between a children’s book and a how-to-book, and I love it. I think the writing and the illustrations work well together. My favorite picture is the one on step number two where a penguin holds a party in an icy region. This book also has lots of notes in case some of the rules cannot be fulfilled, like how to blow out your candles if you live underwater and when to celebrate your birthday if you have a short lifespan like a bug. Most of the characters are animals above and below the water. This book would be good for elementary kids and younger. It would be good to read at a library story time, before bed, and on your birthday.
