Sorceress
What an amazing ride it has been with Nadia, Mateo, and Verlaine. At the end of Steadfast, we know that Nadia has sworn herself to the One Beneath by being Elizabeth’s student. In doing so, Nadia faces many challenges along the way, such as getting a taste of what dark magic can lead to; it can be very satisfying and addictive. Meanwhile, Mateo has to watch on the sidelines as his girlfriend takes on darkness. Can he save her? Or, will she be doomed to be just like Elizabeth? Verlaine, who falls in love with a demon, must find a way to kill him before he kills her. But, it’s easier said than done, especially when not one, but both of them have their hearts involved. I think Sorceress is a beautiful and epic conclusion to the series. The first books were a little slow for my tastes, but this one was a home run. There was so much action that kept me reading, the romance was swoon-worthy, and I loved being able to go on this journey with these wonderful characters.
