Slickety Quick: Poems about Sharks

This book is fun because it tells you about lots of different kinds of sharks, and some of them I didn’t even know about. Like the frilled shark, and the goblin shark, and the megamouth shark. On each page, there is a different shark. There is a picture and it tells you something about the shark. One interesting thing I learned is about how the goblin shark glows pink. And there is a poem about each shark which tells you about the shark. My favorite poem was the one about the megamouth shark. That poem had a good rhythm and it was a shape poem, where the poem looked like the megamouth’s mouth, because there was a picture of the megamouth shark right next to the poem. And that’s the same with some of the other poems, like the poem for the great white shark looks like a dorsal fin, and the one for the cookie cutter shark looked like a spiral. The words are placed on the page in an interesting way so they are fun to look at as well as the pictures, and the poems are fun to read.

Anyone who likes sharks will like this book.
