Shadow Call
A fast-paced science-fiction adventure story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Qole is a young woman responsible for running her family’s shadow hunting ship, which is dangerous work. By her side is Nevarian Dracorte, an exiled prince who has to face his royal identity and figure out who he wants to be. Just as Nev thinks he may get a second chance with his royal parents, they are murdered, and he is accused of killing them. Now he is on the run. Together Qole and Nev have to figure out how to make things right and survive. The characters Qole, Nev, Basra, and all the others are interesting, adventuresome, and very real. I wish I had friends like them. The story is told in alternating chapters from the perspective of Qole, Nev, and Solara. The writing is really good and provides lots of details and brings the action to life almost like a movie. This story has sadness, back stabbing, friendship, and lots of twists and turns that are unexpected, making it one of my favorite books this year. Now I need to go read the first one!
