Sage and his brother are on an exploration trip with their grandfather in a jungle, searching for evidence of a rogue tribe of Inca people. When Sage’s brother, Nick, gets kidnapped by Belphegor, the Prince of Sloth, Sage embarks on an epic quest in a dark underworld filled with monsters. It’s a race to stop Belphegor and save Nick. The story is well-written with an intriguing plot. The characters are realistic and come to life. This book is more action-filled than the Percy Jackson series with older kids and biblical themes. The battle scenes are violent, making it more suitable for fantasy-loving readers over fourteen. It is the second book in the series and made me want to read the first book as I anxiously await the next one. Once you start, you won’t be able to put this book down.
