This book is about Ruby. In her school tons of rumors are going around. Will Ruby find out who is telling all of these rumors? She must also find her best friend who went missing. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack. She also must also defend her grandmother’s farm. Ruby has no idea why her brother is acting weird. He says he has a glitchy feeling. Ruby must also find where her ruby was misplaced. She thinks her best friend took it. But why?

Ruby Redfort: Pick Your Poison by Lauren Child is really hard to understand. It is also the fifth book in the series. The author jumps around between subjects. And because I have not read the other four books, all of the characters are very hard to understand. The action is very slow, and it takes a long time to get to the point when something actually happens. At the end of the book Ruby still has still not found out the answer to the mystery.
