Rickety Stitch and the Gelatinous Goo Book 1: The Road to Epoli
This book was about a skeleton in a fantasy world with his best friend, the Gelatinous Goo. They get fired from their job and now are in search of a new one. Rickety has no idea of what his old life was about. Every night he dreams about a song, but every time he wakes up, he forgets the lyrics. When he and his friend have been traveling for a couple of days, they run into an untrustworthy creature called an imp. Rickety and his friend the Goo do not know not to trust imps. So the imp then tricks them and takes them to a castle where a giant lives. He captures the Goo and tells Rickety to catch a gnome for him or he will eat the Goo. So Rickety looks for the Gnome and finally finds him. The Gnome is polite and offers Rickety hospitality and food, and Rickety cannot bring himself to capture the Gnome. Instead, the Gnome and Rickety team up to take his friend the Goo back without the giant eating any of them. This plot was interesting in the way Rickety Stitch learned more and about his past. The illustrations were very colorful and page filling. Do you like a thrilling adventure appropriate for all ages? If so, this is the book you should have! “Even though it took a while, the other lyrics came so naturally to me, Nerman. Like I’d unlocked a floodgate.”
