Recess Is Ruined (Billy Burger, Model Citizen)
Billy Burger, Model Citizen: Recess is Ruined is a chapter book that is about a kid named Billy Burger that faces the doom of recess being inside instead of outside. Instead of playing in the gym, with all of the other kids, and having all of them stare at him and his friends role playing the parts of their favorite TV show, Super Samurai from Outer Space, they sneak into the library and play, and then get into serious trouble. After playing with all those books, and a little bit of inspiration from Billy’s grandmother, he decides to pick out some books that he could donate. Billy tells his friends about it, and suddenly becomes his school’s book-drive host.
Personally, I think that the author should rename the title of the book. I think that a more appropriate title for this spectacular book should be Billy Burger, Model Citizen: Book Crazy. It tells the reader more about what the book is all about. John Sazaklis did an excellent job writing this book-crazy, fun, and inspiring book for readers like you. You will enjoy this book, I guarantee you.
