This cute story for little kids features a young penguin named Porter, who, one day, finds a misdirected letter to Santa in his family’s mailbox. Not knowing who Santa is, Porter decides to ask his friend Franklin. Just as he’s about to go to Franklin’s house, though, Porter’s mom calls him inside for lunch. After lunch, Porter tries to ask his mother if she knows who Santa is, but Franklin shows up. The two penguin friends head to the playground together. Once there, Porter shows Franklin the letter, but his friend doesn’t know who Santa is either. They go to see Stanley, the smartest penguin in school; even he doesn’t know who Santa is! Stanley suggests that they go see the Old Rockhopper, a very old penguin who has a huge temper, and is very mean. Old Rockhopper knows who Santa is, and, while he tells the story, both of the friends fall asleep. How will Porter find out who Santa is?

This story is perfect for five to seven year old kids. I liked how cute it was. I enjoyed the fun of the illustrations. This is a great book for beginning readers.
